Destiny East is a gated community of detached houses on the inland side of Scenic Highway 98 in east Destin, recorded phase by phase in the city's plat books and run by its own owners association. The association's amenity campus does the resort work here. Club Destiny holds the theater, the fitness center, and the main pool and spa, a second lakeside pool sits by the south entrance where the community meets the scenic road, and tennis, pickleball, and basketball courts, a playground, and a cabana grill round out the set, with a paved exercise trail running through the center of the community. Four Prong Lake, a community-owned 25-acre lake open to catch and release fishing, borders the neighborhood on the west. Local managers describe lush tropical landscaping behind the gate, and the association itself calls this a residential neighborhood popular with vacationers, where each home is individually owned and many are vacation rentals managed by rental companies. Houses rented nightly carry a city short-term rental registration that Destin renews annually, and what any particular address may do comes down to the association's recorded documents, so read them during diligence. Beach days cross the scenic road: the city lists James Lee Park at 3510 Scenic Highway 98, near the Walton County line, as free public beach access with dune walkovers, pavilions, restrooms, and parking.
